Iran, Austria exchange shared views on regional issues

TEHRAN, Oct. 24 (MNA) – Iranian Parliament Vice Speaker Pezeshkian and his Austrian counterpart Kopf in a Mon. meeting in Tehran stressed their shared views on political solutions as the only approach to restore stability to region.

During the meeting, Austrian Parliament Vice Speaker Karlheinz Kopf expressed his satisfaction with visiting Iran and being acquainted with the country’s achievements and advancements in various fields, adding “Iran as a stable and advanced country in the turbulent region of the Middle East has a special and significant place for Austria and other European countries.”

“The parliaments of the two countries can develop cooperation to remove the obstacles currently facing the expansion of bilateral ties in the fields of mutual interest,” he said.

The Austrian parliamentary official referred to the current crises in the Middle East, adding “Austria, much like Iran, believes in the right of nations to decide for themselves without any interference from other countries. We believe that political dialog is the only way out of current difficulties and restoring security and stability to the region.”

Iranian Parliament Vice Speaker Masoud Pezeshkian, for his part, said Iran and Austria have ample capacities for cooperation in the fields of economy, industry and tourism that need to be utilized toward deepening of relations between the two countries.

He also noted that the exchange of political and parliamentary delegations between Tehran and Vienna can help tremendously with increasing mutual understanding and achieving common ground for the development of effective cooperation.

He further discussed regional developments and highlighted cooperation among all countries in the region as the only way for returning security and tranquility to the Middle East.
